Well, I'm an MSDN Subscriber, and I just downloaded and installed the release version of Win XP Pro, and I have to say that it's pretty rock solid. I can't play Might and Magic VIII on it tho.

Overall, it seems to perform better at launching applications, and detecting my hardware, although I don't think it will use my TV Card (Crap :().

If it wasn't for the software activation thing, I really would love it. But I do hate the concept of paying for separate licenses on multiple machines when i'm the only one that uses it. I've got a game machine and a development machine for workstations, and I'll probably leave 2000 on the development machine.

I know there have been a lot of posts about it, but I wanted to share my praise for a very stable product.

What are you talking about real version?

I didn't realize there was a fake version going around! Yeah, XP is stable as they come. I've had it for several weeks now.

calpha, the product key that comes with your October disc shipment allows 10 activations and if you need more, just call and they'll reset it for you. The key from the online download only allows 1 activation. My October shipment arrived today. :)

What he said! =)
Your MSDN subscription from the download page is for just one install, but i believe when i got my email from my TAm they said ti could be installed on multiple machines until my subscription arrived.

We got our Premier license version today, no WPA, no registering no nada.

I think he might mean the version of Windows XP that has been floating around that is not a real "Store" final.
It is the OEM from Compaq.
