Installed win 2000 with NT4.. now want to delete NT4

I just installed win 2000 on my second partition (drive D) and have NT4 on Drive C. I kept NT4 just in case Win 2000 did not work. Now, everything is running fine and I would like to delete NT4. Can I just get into win 2000 and under "My Computer" do a right click and do a quick format on my C: drive? Will I have any problems running my OS off my D drive? Thanks

Since your computer boots initially from the C: drive, no matter which OS you are loading, the boot loader and other essential files would be lost if you formatted C:, thereby making your system unusable until you reinstall Windows. However, to get rid of NT4, you can simply delete the NT4 Windows directory and any other associated directories, then in Win2K edit the boot loader to remove NT4 as a boot option and you're done.. 🙂 Win2K will still be loading from the D: drive, but since that's where you chose to install it in the first place, that shouldn't be a problem for you.

THen would that just be the windows and WINNT folders that I can delete? Where exactly are these boot and essential files that I cannot delete? Thanks

Oh, can I delete everything in the Program Files folder?
