Wow, this OS is amazing. There is so much innovation here and the OS seems so polished.

The App center is sorely missed on Windows. The built in workspaces is super useful and cool. Search is far more advanced and easier to use. The toolsbars in the top right are far superior to Windows.

This is the first time I've used Linux but I feel right at home already.

Ok I'll bite. I have no idea or experience with this. When you say installed from windows 7, that means you can 'side install it'? So you now have two OS to choose from when you boot or does it run somehow virtually from Windows 7? Interesting.

You can download the Windows version of Ubuntu install,it will install from within Windows and ask you to reboot, you then get the option to boot to Ubuntu or Windows depending which one you want, to uninstall Ubuntu you just select uninstall from within Windows Programs and Features.

Ubuntu is polished,Linux Mint is also another very good alternative.

Ubuntu install guide from Windows(allows you to choose Windows or Ubuntu for dual boot) http://www.ubuntu.com/download/desktop/install-ubuntu-with-windows

I'm using dual boot. My laptop still has Windows 7 installed.
