i installed a tv tuner (Hauppauge WinTV-HVR-1850) and now my graphic card (PowerColor Radeon HD 5450) isnt working. if i connect the hdmi cable to the motherboard (MSI 785GTM-E45) a can get a signal to my tv. the tuner is connected to the pci-e x1 and the graphic card is conected to the pci-e x16 of the board.

does anyone know what i can do to resolve this?

thanx

Would the 5450 work if you remove the WinTV? Sounds like you knock the Radeon lose while install the WinTV.

Is the bios setting for Primary Graphic set the PCI-E?
Make sure your bios is updated to the lastest vision.

wow it sounds like it is searching the pci-E bus for a video card, finding the tuner first, failing to post with that and then defaulting to the onboard video without ever bothering to check that there is more than one pci-E card. Make sure you try all the settings for "init display first", or "primary graphic" as paul878 says. The name of the setting might be slightly different, but every motherboard bios has to have some sort of setting like "init display first", or "primary graphic" or "primary display adapter". Try every setting, but what should work is pciEx16 or pciE.

hi. thanx for your suggestions. the bios i have is the latest and i try changing the primary display from pci-e to pci and to internal but the problem persist if the tuner is install the display default to the hdmi in the motherboard.

any other suggestion?

When the tv tuner is in, does the integrated video card work?

Also, when the tv tuner card is in, does your 5450 show the bios screen, and not windows, or nothing at all?

You might want to see if turning Surround View on makes any difference.
