installed RAM, now no video signal

I just bought another Kingston Value RAM 256MB PC2100 stick. I installed it and now I don't get any video signal. I'm assuming my machine is booting normally because it powers on, just no video signal. I tried seeing if the new stick is bad by just installing that one, and it worked fine. I tried switching the orders of the sticks, no signal. I've got them in slot 1 and slot 2 but my machine will only boot if I have one RAM stick in. Any suggestions?

single or double sided ram? Some motherboards will not support 2 double sided dimms, period. that is what it sounds like to me.

I'm assuming double sided cuz theres gold pins and chips on both sides. My motherboard manual says nothing about doublesided or singlesided RAM.

It seems some folks have a problem with that board and gf4 video cards: maybe the power requirements of the additional ram are too much, though it seems unlikely.

I looked at your manual, and it has nothing in there to indicate an incompatability with two sticks of that ram.

well after playing around with bios settings (agp/ddr voltage, agp size), still no luck, I'm waiting for a reply from gigabyte and gonna see if a bios update takes care of it, thanks for you help all
