So I installed PC 6400 which suppose to run at 800mhz but its running at only 666mhz. MY Chip set supports 800mhz. I am using a Toshiba A300.

Yes, but is the FSB 800MHz? Link to the specifications of the laptop?

Just because you put inn faster memory doesn't mean the machine will run at that speed. If you want to run at a faster FSB you must set it to do so in the BIOS.

I understand but it the chipset supports the faster memory , any how w/e it works, just not as I expected.

Posting screenshots of CPU-Z might be helpful, showing your FSB and current RAM speed...

FSB notations are goofy. The T9300 in your laptop has a rated 800 FSB from what I've read, which means the actual FSB frequency is probably 1/4 of that, or 200MHz. If Toshiba hasn't locked down the settings in your BIOS, you can either change your memory divider to 1:2 (FSB:DRAM) or increase your FSB to 400, lower your CPU multiplier, and run the memory 1:1. The first option is probably the easier, safer bet.

CPU-Z website was down, so I can not validate it, ill try again soon and post it.

CPU-Z Validator

EDIT: ok I added the validation my laptops on battery's that's why the cpu clocks low fyi

RAM Speed : 332.5 MHz (3:5) @ 5-5-5-15

Your memory divider is what's causing you to run slower than spec.

Write to Toshiba and ask about how to access this BIOS setting. Some manufacturers hide it with a key combination, and some distributors lock it down completely so you may not be able to change it.
