installed openSUSE 10.2, now what?

i have just finished installing openSUSE10.2 onto a P3 1.0GHz/512MB PC133 RAM/40GB HD without any issues... yeay!

this is my first linux based computer. i have a few questions now...

what is a good source to obtain software for linux? (ie cd/dvd burning, 'dvdshrink'-like program, etc.)

i have a secondary hdd that is in a windows machine (photo/music/video storage) and would like to install it into my linux machine... do i just plug it in and everything be ok or is there some kind of reformatting involved?

how easy is it to share my soon-to-be second hard drive on the network?

any info would be appreciated. thanks.

Suse comes with burning software. What desktop you using, Gnome or KDE?

KDE it is K3B and Gnome It's CD/DVD creator.

Here is a good link on setting up Suse and has the pacman link for an installation source.

Your HD If you plug it in as a secondary it should auto mount. And you should be able to get files.

To share the HD on your network you need to set up Samba and then disable your firewall.
And got to network and find the files you one.
