Installed New Video Card (Powered On, Loud Squeal!) Help!

Just got a new Video Card from New Egg. Here is the Card:

LeadTek GeForce 6800LE TDH (128 MB DDR) Winfast A400 AGP

I installed the Card and when I turned on the power a Loud Continuoius Sqeak/Beep just kept comming from the Video Card! Also, the monitor never turned on. What is going on?????? It was loud and hurt my ears!!!!!!!!!!!!


Here is how I installed it:


1. I disabled my VideoCard in my device Manager

2. Installed into AGP Slot

3.. powered it on!

Thats All

I installed my old video card back in and everything worked fine and no Loud Beeeeeeeeeeeepp.

Here is my System:

Sony Vaio RX-550 1.5 Ghz, 528 RAM, I think my Power Supply is 298 Watts

ANy Ideas.????????????? This sucks

Most likely your power supply isn't cutting it. I don't think video cards themselves can make a loud squealing noise (except if the fan is faulty) but I know power supplies can when they are super stressed.

Thanks. I plugged in my old video card and it works just fine. Man I wish this worked!

I did some searches and it also said that a LOUD Continous Beep could also mean the Power Supply is Bad?

It also often means that the video card has an auxilliary power connecter (Molex), and you have no power connected to it.

Not necessarily bad, just not powerful enough and there is way too much draw.

OK Guys I FIGUREF IT OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YEAH!!!

There was an additional Plug that came with the Video Card. I plugged that into the cords comming off the power supply and then everything worked.

My power supply works thank goodness.

This card is supposed to Rock! for the $$
