Installed new motherboard, see blank screen on boot

I just installed an Asus P5LD2 Deluxe which uses the same 945P chipset I was using before. I'm using a Pentium D 820, an EVGA 7800GT, an Antec Neo HE550, and an NEC DVD+/-RW. Only the video card, hard drive, and DVD drive are hooked up right now, and the video card is also plugged in to the PSU. I don't think its because of the PSU being Antec because The motherboard light is on, all the fans spin including on the video card, the drive is working, but I just don't see anything on the screen. I think the monitor knows that something is connected though because I don't see the floating testing box, it just goes into "sleep" where the light turns orange. I don't see anything for a full minute. Is there anything I may have overlooked? This is my first time putting together everything by myself.

You have RAM installed too right(just asking since you said only video card, hard drive, and DVD drive are hooked up)

Make sure all the power connections are plugged in, the 24pin ATX connector, and the 4 pin 12v atx connector(the one with 2 yellow and 2 black wires). Try with the bare minimums, video card, 1 stick of ram, cpu/heatsink and fan. Disconnect the hard drive, dvd drive, any any other PCI cards etc. Also make sure the CPU fan is plugged in to the fan connector labled cpu fan, some motherboards won't boot if they don't detect a fan there.

Yeah there was also RAM installed. I tried your suggestion but it still didn't work. I called Asus and he said I need to update the bios to use the Pentium D 820. It's advertised as supporting the Pentium D, and it's not even the 9 series so this is retarded. They're going to send me one now.

Yeah, sometimes you do need a bios update to support the CPU. I had to update my P5LD2-VM to support my 920. Fortunatly I had a P4 to stick in while I updated the bios. Although I'm not sure how they would know you need a newer bios, if you can't turn it on to see what bios version it already..

EDIT: p.s., do you plan on overclocking? Just curios if the P5LD2 deluxe has the same issues as the -VM. Can't get past around 220mhz FSB, unless you increase the PCIe frequency.

The bios version is printed on a sticker on the chip. There's a like 4 or 5 numbers on it but I don't know which one is the bios version. And yeah, I do want to overclock that's the main reason I got this board.

I think the board is dead. I've tried swapping the CPU, the video card, and the RAM and it still does not work. Asus did send me a flashed bios chip though. Is it worth it to try the board with the flashed bios chip or does it sound like I need a new board?

One thing I found out setting up my current system (first using asus board) was that
it was picky where I decided to install my ram (which slots). I couldn't figure out for
the life of me what was wrong since fans spun and hard drives turned, but nothing
else. Until I checked the manual and saw I had my 2 512 chips in the "wrong" place.
Hope that might work...
