Installed new mobo/cpu/ram - doesn't work

Went out and bought a brand new Soyo KT-400 Dragon Ultra mobo, new 1800+ XP cpu, and Corsair PC2700 ram and my comp won't boot up at all. I tried re-inserting the ram two or three times, also cleared CMOS, still nothing. I just get a continuous beep that's all, no video, I get all power to my fans, but just a loud continuous beeping noise followed by a 1-2 second pause. I honestly have no clue wtf else there is to do, I've bought brand new stuff and set it up and now it doesn't work. Any input is greatly appreciated.

have you tried reseating your cpu? try looking in the motherboard manual for what that beeping sound means

If not a seating issue with the CPU/RAM/Vid card, then it is possibly a short between the mobo and the standoffs.

It is a good idea to pre-test a new mobo outside of the case before installing, by sitting it on the foam pad it came with and merely connecting the PSU, CPU/fan, RAM and video card and seeing if you post.

I took it out of my case, did the bare essentials, HD/Cpu/Ram/Video card/power cords, no beeps at all, just no video, should I try another card?

Well, with the HD connected it should have booted up normally and you should have had video.
Yes, try swapping in another vid card.
