i just replaced my Athlon XP 1600+ with my new MP 2000+ (im still waiting for the 2nd MP 2000+ to come int he mail) and now when i turn on my coomputer, all i get is a series of beeps, the beeps are as follows:

- --- ---- ---
(beep - beep beep beep - beep beep beep beep - beep beep beep)

the monitor does not even turn on. i did not touch anything but the CPU, and now nothing works. any ideas?

Try reseating the processor. If that don't help, you will have to look up your MB specs and decipher the post beep codes.

Your beep codes are as follows:

<TABLE borderColor=#cfcfcf cellSpacing=0 borderColorDark=#ffffff cellPadding=0 width="100%" borderColorLight=#cfcfcf border=1>

<TR>

<TD></TD>

Failures accessing or initializing base (conventional) memory. A failure of some sort was encountered either initializing or testing . The first bank of memory probably has a bad memory chip in it somewhere. It is possible that there is a failure related to the motherboard or a system device as well.

Check that your ram is still seated correctly, I'd even take it out and reinstall it.

Sorry, cut and paste was all messed up. You could have a bad cpu, have you tried putting the XP back in?

It might be the memory is not seated right on the bank. From experience, even both clip snaps in, it doesn't mean that the memory is actually sitted correctly.

yes my board supports the MP 2000+

i also tried putting the XP back in and now that doesnt work. and i re-installed the memory and still nothing.

well i tried re-seting the BIOS and it sounded like it started up normally. i got one beep like usual, but the screen was still blank. i turned it off and tried again and got the same set of beeps 1-3-4-3.

double and triple check your video card. the video cards sometimes get loose at the far end (side away from bracket) it may seem like it's in right because you have it scewed in, but someone it comes loose

ya the vid card is in there.

i just got my 2nd MP chip today, and put it in there with the other one, and now im getting a different set of beeps:

1-1-1-1

beep-beep-beep-beep

edit: my friend said that my comp may have goten messed up cus i only had one MP CPU in there by itself, and they cant run by themselves, is that true?
