Specs:

Mobo: MSI H81M-E33

CPU: Intel Core i5-4460 Haswell Quad-Core 3.2 GHz LGA 1150 BX80646I54460

PSU: Sentey® Power Supply 725w Xpp725-hs

SSD: Samsung 850 EVO 120GB 2.5-Inch SATA III

GPU: GeForce GTX 550 Ti (Fermi) FPB 1GB 192-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16

RAM: G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM

I upgraded everything except the GPU and RAM.

Upon boot, everything lit up inside the case.. but none of the external components did (Monitor says no signal, Keyboard - no lights, Mouse - no lights)

What I've tried thus far:

I took out one stick of RAM, booted with same issues.

I made the monitor connect to onboard graphics. booted with same issues.

I took the power cables out of all the internal components and re-seated them all. booted with same issues.

I'm familiar with what i'm doing, but maybe there's a piece to the puzzle I missed.

Please help!!!!!!!!!!

Is the BIOS current?

Did you remove the 550ti when you tried the Intel graphics?

How would I determine if the BIOS is current? This is a brand new MOBO that I just installed.

I did not fully remove the GPU when I tried the Intel graphics. I will try that.. but if it does work then how do I get my GPU to work? I've had this GPU for awhile and it worked with my previous set up.

Regardless, the CPU wouldn't have seated correctly if it wasn't supported... right? Well, I double checked and the CPU sits fine.

Oh, I didn't see the last part of your message. There is no speaker plugged in. Can I just plug speakers in the green audio jack in the back ???

No, I meant supported by the BIOS. All 1150 chips will drop in to the socket okay.

I'm not sure if plugging a speaker in to the green jack will work.

If there are no speaker pins on the MOBO, the green jack may work.

...I'm not seeing a place for a mobo speaker :( I don't think the green audio jack works with BIOS codes.

OP, I would pull the GPU out completely, recheck to make sure all your mobo power plugs are in (I had a problem with the 24-pin on an ASRock board once...) and try it again. Do you have an alternate PSU you could try, just enough to test the board?

PC speaker connector is just below the PCI-E slot. Consult your manual if you don't see it. Make sure you didn't forget the 4-pin power connector. And do try it with no video card connect it, and reset the BIOS if it still doesn't work.

There were several revisions on the BIOS before your CPU came out, so compatibility could also be an issue here. Not much you can do about that besides finding a shop that will update it for you, or returning the MSI and getting a better board.

I will try pulling the GPU, keep in mind neither my mouse nor keyboard lit up either.

I have an alternate PSU that worked on my previous system.. I will update when I get home after work.

I appreciate all the help.

So I tried taking the gpu out and booting it, nothing happened.

I don't know what you mean by the speakers are below the pci slot..

Yes, the 4 pin connector is connected.

I also made sure the mobo is mounted on those raisers.

I'm out of ideas.

Take it out of the case. Place it on the box it came in or on a piece of cardboard or a wooden table.

Have only the CPU and one stick of RAM installed as well as the mouse, keyboard and PS. Hook monitor up to the onboard video.

Momentarily short across pins 6 and 8 on JFP1. This is the pin block where you attached the wires from the case. Page 22 of your manual.

If it won't start, remove power to the board, swap in the other stick of RAM and try again.

If it won't boot, clear the CMOS. Page 24 of your manual. This has already been suggested but I see no response from you. Did you do this?

If it didn't boot, is your RAM compatible? You're not giving the complete specs.

Have you tried the other power supply?

The i5 series is shown as a compatible processor for you board at least according to the manual and your research. You may benefit from having the latest BIOS revision but I don't believe it is going to be required to boot.

This sounds likely myself.

Odd I'd never even heard of that PSU ever before, but that doesn't like the problem to me.

It is possible though.

There are two tiny pins below the bottom PCI slot... you need a mobo speaker... just a tiny little speaker with 2 wires. This will give you the boot codes. Look at your manual for the proper pins... MSI's labeling is a little odd.
