This fan is REALLY loud!! I was warned by a bunch of you that I wouldn't be able to stand it :) I don't have a problem with it but my roommate does :( I'm VERY happy with the combo. I pulled off a Coolermaster HSC-V62 that had the cheap thermal grease (smeared all over the place) and put some Arctic Silver 3 on with the new combo and my temperatures went from: 69 degrees / 29 degrees case, to 30 degrees / 27 case (celcius at full load). I ordered it all from SVC Compucycle and it was here in 2 days. I am going to get a different fan for now though, what do you guys recommend for a quieter fan that will still keep me in the 30's? Thanks!

You're trying to get blood from a stone here ... a quiet fan that'll perform near to a Tornado? :)

Try a Thermaltake SmartFan II or a YS Tech TMD (Tip Magnetic Drive) fan - the TMD pushes about 38cfm @ 34dB or so usually.

The Tornado was kind of overkill I guess :) My processor temp never exceeds 27 degrees except for full load, I don't need it THAT cool. Which of those 2 fans is better? The TMD or the Thermaltake?

i'd definately recommend the YS, the TT spreads the air instead of focusing it. i got this one and get 35C idle and 40-45C load at 1.85Vcore on my Swiffy CMX462+. so the combination would be the same on your side..if not better

Huh? Speak up, I cannot hear you. :p

I've used fans like the antec lighted fans, stealth, and now a 4k rpm fan I am using a fan controller with. Tt fans are just too noisy for me.

According to what I've read, the TMD is a pretty poor fan unless the heatsink is built to take full advantage of the central air force. The SK7 didnt have a good time on the review I saw. There have also been some scares with TMD's, I heard about the fan spinning out of control then starting to melt from another forum I enquired on.

From what I've also heard, the Thermaltake Smart Fan II is quite good but the YS Tech Adjustable might be better as the noise is supposed to be less harsh.

The YS Tech however has a lower min and max RPM which would have to be considered.
