installed kazaa - internet does not work anymore

Hi,
I downloaded Kazaa from kazaa.com and installed it, last night. Today when I turned the computer on, 1. the internet was not working only on that machine ( the other machine on the network via router had internet working ) 2. the light on the router that shows a computer's on, was not on, 3. received an error message " recovered from a serious error" "send report or cancel". This error still existed after I uninstalled Kazaa.

Specifications:
2 machines ( machine A (kazaa) , machine B) - both have XP os
connected via netgear router
have cable connection for internet

Anybody encountered this, or would know how to fix this??!!!

you installed kazaa, not kazaalite... but ya i dunno why it'd just shut off your net.

regular kazaa is evil.

Try a system restore.

Or uninstall your connection and let Windows find it and reinstall.

Also scan for spyware as I'm pretty sure you get some with Kazaa

why dont you try getting ride of old ghey kazaa, and installing Kazaa Lite.

you wont be losing any of your files

OMG the exact same thing happened to me with Kazaa Lite!

I'm not exactly sure what fixed it as I was frantically trying everything I could to correct the problem, but I think I fixed it by resetting the BIOS settings to default.

So you're the guy who broke the whole internet!

It sounds like Kazaa borked your network settings but good. If you want to do things right, remove the NIC and all the drivers, boot the machine up again, shut down and reinstall the lot. That should cure any problem Kazaa caused unless it got into your registry.

1) uninstall kazaa
2) restart
3) clean you registry. IR Regcleaner
4) Restart
5) uyninstall NIC card
6) restart
7) install it again
8) download Kazaa Lite from Here

Thanks guys for your help. I will try all that at home tonight. One question I had was how do I clean the registry? Would that help?

I did see that the network is not working properly either - meaning I can not see the other computer from this machine. However, router is fine!

I don't understand, y would this happen after downloading Kazaa?!!!! I thought I could trust this site and download it!!!!
