installed an ati aiw 8500dv but the screen is blank

Help!!!!

I just installed ati aiw 8500dv but when I power up my computer, there is no signal going to the monitor. I have an ECS KT600-A mobo with an amd 2600+ which I am getting ready to upgrade. is there a special bios setting that I need to set up?
 
is there integrated graphics on mobo?
If yes, disable in BIOS [hook monitor to mobo vga port].

If there isn't onboard vga, then, have you got a spare vga card lying around that you can try?
Does the system beep when you switch it on, and does the hdd led flicker as if windws is loading ok?
What do you see and hear?
Does the computer make any noise at all when you try to boot up???

No integrated graphics on the mobo.

I have another vga card and it works.

When i install the ati aiw 8500dv and boot the computer, the hdd flicker as if it's loading. there are no other noises but nothing on the screen...
