This may be a noob question........but I want to make sure I get things installed properly.

The side of the heat sink with the step goes on the side with the tightener lever......correct.

Main question I have is where or do you need to use the little feet/pad that come with it....?

Also....fan should blow inwards towards the heatsink correct?

Thanks

Josh

You got it right, the side with the step goes at the end where the lever swivels. Also, because the heatsink can slide back and forth on its clip a little, make sure to slide it as far away from the lever as you can, before you fasten the clip down, or it might ride up on the solid-plastic end of the CPU socket.

The pads that are already on the corners of the CPU are all you need down there. Thermalright does include some black strip-shaped pads that you can put inbetween the heatsink fins and the fan itself, partly to prevent vibration I think.

The fan is going to work best blowing down onto the fins, probably. Have fun with the new heatsink and keep a close eye on the clip to make sure it isn't going to hit any surface-mounted bits on your motherboard... I knocked a surface-mounted resistor off my A7V333-RAID with my SK-7's clip and now it is Not Working :(

Well that sure sux. :(

The clips are the only thing bad about Thermalright's heatsinks. Wish they'd make a screw mount.

Though using clips makes for a faster fan exchange.

Check out the SLK-900U and 800U, both of which are bolt on.
