Installation of roofing straps (lsta 16)

How do you install the lsta 16 straps? does it go over the crown, below the plywood such as shown in this picture:

or can you install it over the plywood that are installed over the framing crown?

I am wondering because my contractor just have them installed over the plywood and the construction plans does not detail where they should be installed, above the ply or below. And google only shows examples of installation under the ply.

Probably depends on local code. Call the building inspector.

I don't see where Simpson has an LSTA16, but assuming a Simpson LSTA, and assuming the use is a high wind framing rafter ridge connection, then per the Simpson installation guide:

"All straps shall be installed over the sheathing with 10d common nails into framing members. All nail holes shall
be filled except for the center (4) in the LSTA & MSTA and the center 6 in the CS14 strap."

Any intallation that isn't exactly as prescribed by the manufacture will typical require review/approval by an engineer.
