I'm trying to do a clean reinstall of a program and to the best of my ability I cannot do it such that it won't remember it's previous buggy configuration. Somethings still there upon uninstall, but where? My biggest peeve with these things is not being able to administer my own systems. There must be a way.
 
It's probably reading old registry settings. You'll need to find where the program stores its settings in the registry and remove those keys. It may not find anything, but doing a search for the program (or manufacturer) name within REGEDIT is usually a good way to start looking.
 
Thanks Fardringle, I'll give it a whirl. I once jumped off a garage onto a haystack and landed on a needle. Just lucky I guess.... : )
