Install XP on old or fresh motherboard?

I'm building a new P4 system in a day or two. I had installed WinXP on the HD I want to use for the new system using an old Celeron back in December (just to test it out). I don't think there should be any difference if I do a fresh install or just plug it in but I'm taking no chances with the new baby.

Might work, it might not. Mass storage drivers, HAL type, and kernel are what may or may not break you.

Can't hurt to try it, eh? If it doesn't work, do an in-place upgrade. If it does work, no extra work required.
