New system:

Asrock Extreme4Gen3 Mobo
i5-2500k
EVGA 580
Crucial M4 128g SSD
WD 1TB Caviar Black
Sony Optiarc DVD-RW

Windows 7 64-bit.

Problem is thus. I initially installed windows in IDE mode, and switched to AHCI, and of course windows didn't recognize that there was a boot drive, so everything was off...figured 'my bad', reinstalled windows with the UEFI bios set to AHCI, everything was copacetic.

So, I go to install all my drivers, it reboots, and I get the same damn problem. It says 'insert bootable something something and press any key' (I can get the actual error message if necessary) and of course I press any key and it repeats the message. If I go into bios, everything is still set to AHCI, it shows my SSD as bootable, and it even tries to boot from the SSD....but it just can't or won't.

I'm sure I can reinstall windows again, and the install itself goes flawlessly, but I just can't reboot afterwards, at all. Moreover, when in windows, it will detect all of my drives as being there, but it does not show my Caviar Black as a drive I can put stuff on or anything like that in 'My Computer'.

Halp! :'(

For whatever reason, Windows wasn't loading the driver necessary. Had to delve into the registry and fix something.

Did flash the firmware, seemed to help performance, at least :).

Thanks!
