Install Times For MGS4 Discovered
Yesterday, we confirmed the tech specs for Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots but there's a bit more to talk about: those multiple install times.
Even if you're a stickler for avoiding even the tiniest details before playing, we won't be including any spoilers here. We wanted to clear that up because as Wal-Mart has already broken the street date on this one, there's a good chance you'll find plenty of spoilers online. Anyway, thanks to a NeoGAF poster, it seems we now have the individual install times for MGS4: first, there's the 8-minute 4.6 gig install before you start to play, which we already knew. After this, the game installs more data before the start of each of the five Acts-
* Act 2 - 3 mins
* Act 3 - 3 mins
* Act 4 - 2 mins
* Act 5 - 1 min
Now, obviously, this doesn't include the cut-scene time included in MGS4, but those aren't considered "downtime." Those are part of the story and something you certainly won't want to miss; these install times leave you sitting there with nothing to do, but thankfully, they're short. No big deal, right?
We already have a thread where this is being discussed.
