My computer is running Windows 7 64. Someone suggested to install Office 2013 (Home/student) in the Office 32 bit version and not 64 bit....something about 64 bit office being buggy. True? Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I don't know about buggy, but as far as I know Microsoft recommends 32 bit for the typical user because it tends to be more compatible with Office add-ins.

Important info above.

When I learned here, I was in harm's way running Office 2007, I had no clue---and had to update which I resented, even tho I am running W7 64-bit, they gave me 32 bit by default. I then delved and learned why, re the above.

That was for Office 2010. Many plugins are 64 bit compatible now, so unless you have a plugin which you know do not run on 64 bit, I would go with that.

Very important info! I did not know this, not ever having run 2013.

Yeah, it's a great utility that is a collection of 300 macros for Excel, love it.

300?😱

One of the few apps I feel intimidated by.....is...Excel.:'( So good I almost never need it.

So, I am impressed you have beyond mastered it, forget, its optimized potential.
