Hey guys,
I am attempting to install Redhat9. it boots to the screen where it asks you in which mode you would like to install (graphical or text) I press enter for graphical and it begins, a bunch of code begins to scroll the screen and then the screen fades to white. it does this in text mode as well..what is this?
thanks
kyle

well i let it sit and nothing happens, i tried installing with different resoplutions. i let it sit for a while and one time the screen just went black and i had to manually reset.

Is this by any chance the laptop from your other post? I've seen that symptom on my POS Acer laptop because it can't handle power management properly. You might check out the boot screen to see if there are options to disable ACPI or APM.

it is the same laptop. I went into the bott screen and there were no power options on my laptop. what next?>

Try booting with

linux acpi=off

"linux" should be the default kernel for the install. If you're choosing a different one, substitute appropriately.
