Install of DirectX 8 not complete

I installed DirectX 8 on both Win98SE and Win2000 (Dual boot). The Win2k install is fine - everything got updated, but the Win98SE install did not. Some of my components are DirectX 8 and the others are still DirectX 7. This has happened on 2 systems so far.

Any ideas?

Sorry... quick question here, where do you go to find out which DirectX version you are using? I've been working on this damn computer so long in the last few days, I can't remember if I installed it or not. Thanks.

Depending on your system, either type "dxdiag" or "dxinfo" in the Start -> Run menu.
