Install HP 693C Deskjet WinXP Driver

All instructions have been followed to install XP drivers from the XP CD. When CD selected it auto shows path as D:\DriversWinXP (or similar). This seems to be correct and all info thusfar indicates that the CD for Win XP contains the driver for this printer and this is the default install method. PROBLEM - message that this CD does not contain any information for this printer. I have experienced similar problems in the past with W98 and usually just trying several times will cause the program to recognize that the driver IS there. Not this time. Any thoughts on what can be happening. Machine is 1.4 Gig Intell, XP-Home and is brand new....Thanx

Not positive on this/ but it could be that XP has its own driver that is newer than the 1 off the cd, and hence is giving the message? I recently bought a 960cse, and installed drivers directly from the web, and had no probs.
