Install EPSON drivers ONLY - no status/print monitor junk?

I'm in the process of attempting to network an Epson CX6600. I have about a dozen macs/PC's that I'm going to have printing to it - and I'd like to install just the "bare" driver - no other associated software junk.

Is this possible? I looked into their driver files, and they're just loaded with....stuff!

I thought I'd try to extract the basic driver files - but it seems Epson has "groups" of driver files for printers...and I just get lost.....

any ideas/suggestions?

Try and install the driver using the OS instead of the install package.

Thanks for the suggestion.

I would if I could find a discrete .inf file...but I can't - just a couple of "global" .inf's that seem to lead to running the whole epson setup program.....

Extract the files that relate to the Epson CX6600 and then play around with the different INF selections.

You should stumble on the bare bones driver.

He's saying just use the default Windows driver. ;)

Bizarre...but yes, twice. I hate that little print status monitor thing - I've now found I can disable that- but it is still installed and they modify my startup HKLM key.

Ah well, I think I'll have to just keep all that stuff, I guess.

Thanks for the help, though
