Install drivers or stick with WHQL?

Skylake board, ASUS H170 PRO GAMING. No uninstalled drivers according to Device Manager. I only installed intel LAN (right at first boot to get online for windows update) and the latest intel graphics driver. Aside from that, WU pulled WHQL drivers for everything else. Sound works fine, system is fast, all devices are detected etc.

I don't have the ASUS special fancy audio control panel or other goodies they put on the disc that came with the board and I'm inclined to just leave this stock WHQL. Should I change my tune here? I didn't even install the Intel Management drivers or anything like that and I'm wondering what's the point at this point. If no devices are lacking drivers, why should I stress about this? System is fast as heck and I can't tell if I'm hampering performance by not using non WHQL drivers for anything.

Suggestions?

If everything works, and you don't have anything lacking drivers in device manager, you're good to go.

Which version of Windows are you running?

Windows 10 of course! :) Yeah I think I'll leave WHQL as is. I did install the latest Realtek audio driver, but I'm not going beyond that.

Windows 10 of course! :)

In that case, all is well. All the correct WHQL drivers have installed automatically. Windows 10 is a huge improvement in this case, since it'll download the appropriate driver for almost anything. :D

Tinkering with USB drivers can actually be counterproductive on 8(.1) and newer since you loose UASP support in most cases.
