Install Cable HSI?

Usually, all they do is just plug the modem in. The good techs will do in depth testing on the line and run a new, deddicated line from your hookup at your cable box (outside of house).
 
I would think so but I recall my guy having to come inside for some reason. No biggie though, takes 3 seconds. You have to set up the software to tell the cable company you're ready so they can let you in to the system. Which also takes a few mins.
 
i "installed" it myself

call the cable tech line and gave them the modems MAC address and i was good to go once i plugged it in.
