:sneaky:

Then why ask?
:'(

And define "really beat" ...
:whiste:

I was mostly just talking to myself, trying to justify my purchase :whiste:

"beat" = perform better, in games and in weakly multithreaded apps. If AMD has a knockout product on their hands I don't know if everyone would be so silent about it... there should be more people like you trying to tease BD performance ():)

NDA? Just a wild guess.

What do you want me to do? Spill the beans and get into big trouble?
:'(]

If you cant give any documented benchmarks, just dont say anything or mess around with cute little emoticons. There are enough Bulldozer rumors already. BTW, I hate emoticons.

I voted for you to go with the 2500K. But if it's mainly to scratch an upgrade itch and have something new to play with then I agree with waiting for BD. I personally can't wait to do a direct comparison of my current Phenom II x3 @ 3.7GHz vs FX 8120 on same Hyper 212+ cooler.

You don't like it? Tough. Don't read it. The OP asked a question and apoppin gave the best advice he could that doesn't break his NDA agreement.

Why in the world would you be so rude to person giving advice on a tech forum, about a question that doesn't involve you in any way? And who cares what you think about emoticons?

"And define "really beat" "

I think he means "Truly beat", not as in "beat it badly", but as in "can it possibly beat"

With Apoppin's cryptic and vague statements I'm leaning towards thinking I will see some nice improvements in games from my current Phenom II @ 3.7GHz. Which makes the CanardPC numberless article somewhat baffling, did they go to press with a not quite launch platform? Or is it all about hitting 5+Ghz on air?

i'll bet real money that its gonna get delayed again. It's been delayed 4-5 times, what makes u think this coming release date is final?

Both choices don't make much sense.

About Intel choice.
Why would you buy a SB CPU just before a major competing platform release? You never know the FX CPU's will turn out.

About the AMD choice.
Why would you buy a board before BD releases? Wait until it releases and, if it's good for you, buy the same board for a lower price.

In short - wait until BD releases, it it's good, buy it, it it's bad, buy 2500k.

You dont have to read my posts either if you dont like them. BTW, the statement about emoticons was meant as a joke.

I just think it is manipulative to imply that Bulldozer is some great advance without giving any specific details. Like the old commercial says, "Show me the beef". And I think the post was smug and superior, in the fact that --I have information that you dont, ha ha.

He could have just said "My advice is to wait" instead of implying that he has some great inside track with AMD.

Yeah.... like i said earlier i support amd as much as possible so i returned my impulse buy. And why would the 990 board be cheaper? Either way i needed a new board

So I went from my Q9450 @ 3.2 to my current 2500k at 4.2 and I don't perceive a difference in gaming. Unless you plan on doing more than that, I don't think you would see a difference between 2500k and BD, even if BD wiped the floor with the 2500k, which I seriously doubt it will.

Apple is about the worst kept hardware secret out there.

Considering how many people want to see it, they've done a pretty damn good job of keeping the iPhone 4S/5 under wraps (which is being unveiled TODAY!).

Well except the fact that they leave prototypes in bars. /yawn for the iPhone 5. Apple is so far behind the tech curve.

So you're going to ignore the fact that almost no info leaked on the iPad, iPad 2, iPhone 4S/5, Macbook Air, etc etc etc and pointing out the one highly publicized and moronic mistake one Apple employee made?

Look, I hate Apple as much as the next guy, but if you think Apple's hardware isn't relevant to the tech world, I'm just going to stop considering your opinions.

Anyway, now that we're completely off-topic... I wonder if AMD can pull off a strong release of BD, even if the numbers aren't good. I'm afraid that they're only going to pull off a vaporware launch. Hope they have quantity at release.

All i said was, " Some of us do" in response to, "I just wish we knew more about Bulldozer". Indeed; it is true. And i did give my advice to the OP immediately following, "Wait a bit longer ..."
-
He is a self-acknowledged AMD fan who has already been waiting for a long time.

If you are reading, "manipulative", implying advances, or being smug and or superior from my post, it would indicate that you have a very fertile imagination that is not based in any reality that i am accustomed to.
