Install 2 versions of MS Office...?

Yep, everything but outlook can have two instances. Outlook 2007 will be removed when you install 2010. unless you install new then old version... But then the versions will 'fight'.

Although I don't know what you will gain with 2007... 2010 is a solid improvement over 2007 while preserving the formats the same

i tried to do this last night but when i switch between word 2007 and 2010 it takes some to configure each time.

possible, but not supported. id use just 2010 in your case. ive seen some people have office 2010 installed and need access 2003 for some old databases. why do you need both, since those two versions are so similar?

And 2010 can save files as previous versions

2007 and later produces the same file formats.

They're not; I've seen some Access databases work fine in 2000, 2002 and 2003 but not properly in later versions. One db amusingly asks for data entry for a variable called 'date' when one attempts to run it in >2007.

I don't see the benefit to use both. 2010 is a fantastic upgrade over 2007, but yes, like everyone said. It will work.

you cant install 2007 with 2010 because they are practically the same. but can install 2007 with 2013 without any problem.

Are you just guessing or telling from the experience?

Few of us here have actually managed to install these two versions side-by-side.

surely they are very similar, but there are folks that like to have both for whatever reason (perhaps stuck at work with 2007, etc.)
