Instability w/ 9700 pro and asus p4g8x

I just built a new system and its having problems. One time i clicked on favorites and invalid sync came up. Had to reboot. Keep getting crashes with win xp saying display device was at fault.

Format and clean install
Catalyst 3.1
Latest bios 1003
Used Windows update... up to date on all drivers???

Cpu temp @ 51 idle ... creeps up during load (retail cpu cooler w/ pad. Will upgrade soon)
Mobo temp @ 29

P4 2.8
Asus P4G8X deluxe

Any ideas?????

im havin the same problems on my asus p4s8x
i got the hercules 9700pro today and i cant o/c
as much as i used to now im @2600mhz b4 with 8500le i was @2800
downloaded all kinds of diferents drives etcc
w/ no luck let me know if you get to fixs urs i'll do the same
when i fix.......
cant play the games

Make sure USWC is enabled in the BIOS and not UC

Thanks. I went in bois and change that. Mine was on UC. Time will tell if that improves things.
