I received a e1705 back in late February and have been nothing but impressed with the system. It runs extremely well and after upgrading my RAM to 2 gigs, has run all the games I play very well (only EQII is past its limits).
However, I was unfortunate enough to receive a bad Samsung screen with excessive light leakage. After a month of waiting and a long string of complaints, I was finally transferred to Dell's resolution center. The resolution agent wants to put me in a XPS with comprable specs. Everything on my new order is comprable or better except the processor. I am pleased to have a better wireless modem and graphics card, etc, but they are trying to stick me with a 2.0ghz 760 processor.
I enjoy being able to alt-tab almost seemlessly out of my games and surf the internet and run other programs. Will I still be able to do this with this system? I need advice as to what to do. I have no doubt that the xps is more powerful for gaming, but oc'ing the card sounds a bit more of a hassle than with the 9400. Also, the xps is ugly and flashy. Are there replacement covers for it? Any advice or someone with a simialr experience please help!
