OK. Finally, after weeks of lurking behind the forums, I went and ordered my first notebook. Here are the specs:

Pentium M 1.6GHz, 15.4" WSXGA+
512MB DDR333(256MB x 2)
128MB nVidia® GeForce? FX Go 5650 4X AGP
60GB - 7200rpm Ultra ATA Hard Drive
24XCD-RW/DVD Combo Drive
Dell? TrueMobile? 300 Bluetooth Internal Card
Dell TrueMobile? 1300 WLAN (802.11b/g, 54Mbps)
TRIPPLITE TRAVEL Surge Suppressor & 4-port USB 2.0 Ultra Mini Hub Kit
3 Year Limited Warranty plus 3 Year Mail-In Service

What do you guys think? Any comments? Feel free to criticise.

The estimated shipping date is Oct 6th. Still a long ways to go. By the way, has anyone received their orders before the estimated ship date?

Based on the guys over on the delltalk forums, they've been getting their laptop a week before the arrival date. That said, your config is pretty close to what i was going to order. However, after reading most of the reviews on the 9600 vs the 5650 video cards...I have some reservations about spending that kinda money and not getting the ATI card.

AnandTech's Review 9600 v. 5650

The Radeon beats the stuffing out of the 5650 in DX9 benchmarks. The 5650 isn't a terrible GPU, but it just can't compare to the Radeon 9600. Dell should offer a 9600 upgrade as an option.

Exactly. If 9600 was offered I would have gone for it. But they didn't, actually no major notebook manufacturer offers the ati solution. IBM T40s are stuck with mobility 9000, hp's zd7000 usues the 5650 also, fujitsu and gateway both use 9000 also. Absolutely no one offers the 9600 except for voodoo and sager and eurocom. But I didn't like these manufacturer's solution. They all assemble desktop components into a notebook. Anyways.
