Greetings everyone,
Just after the1 year warranty ran out, my LCD started developing red lines in places, I took the notebook apart and found that pressure in certain places fixed the problem (tried new cables, appears to be in the LCD itself), and so I added a few folded yellow sticky notes between the screen and lid to apply the pressure. This fix has worked for almost another year, however, every month I have add a few more stickies to keep the fix working before the lines come back. It has finally gotten to the point where this is no longer practical and I need a new screen.

If possible I would like to replace my screen with a 15" UXGA Ultra Sharp, instead of the standard 15" UXGA (IBM model 32MCW) I have now. I have a Radeon Mobility 7500 64MB graphics card...

I am looking at this screen as a replacement: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3434194031&category=42187

Any thoughts? Will this work? Perhaps other places I could purchase the screen?

This upgrade was also brought about by my hard drive failing... And so I have ordered a new 60GB 7200RPM model, and 2x 256MB Ram chips to give me 512MB. If I could find a reasonably priced Radeon Mobility 9000 64MB I would be interested in that also, but first the LCD screen.

Thank you!

I tried bidding on the first one, little more expensive but I want the best contrast/brightness/viewing angle I can find for a notebook..

Funny though they call it an "Ultra Sharp" but I can't find any information on that model from google of Toshiba's web site.
