is UXGA which means it it optimized at 1600x1200. Does that mean I have to run the desktop at 1600x1200 all the time but games etc will run with max perf at any res or do II have to run desktop and games at 1600x1200? i did notie that when i ran desktop at 1600x1200 and 3dmark at 1024x768 I scored 2400 but whn i ran desktop and 3dmark at 1024x768 I only scored 467.

My dell has the Geforce2 Go 32 meg card but im upgrading it to the GF4 440 go 64 meg soon.

Some games don't even give you the option to run 16*12. The G2G GPU isn't powerful enough to handle that kind of native resolution. You'd have to downsize to maybe 800*600 to see any respectable framerates, depending on what game you're playing.

I recall playing NFS Porsche in 800*600 mode on my Inspiron 8100 and it ran ok. The display, through interpolation, was blurry at that res, but still playable.

You'll probably be wanting to run games in 640x480 mode with that setup anyways. The G2go is a really really old card and can't handle much.
