Inspiron 700m Tips? Can I play my RTS game?

I'm getting ready to pull the trigger on a 700m. I'm pretty much getting every option, 2.0process, 80gb drive, 2gb of ram etc.

Just curious but is the video card good enough to run Rise of Nations? I'm not gonna do any serious gaming but playing Rise of Nations in the hotel seems somewhat appealing. (better then boring TV)

How long does the 4 cell and 8 cell battery last? (real world usage)

4 cell...under 2 hours?
8 cell at least 3.5 hours

since u wil have 2gb...turn off swap file.. that way u save more on battery life since it won't need to acess the hd as much.

what's the video card

It only has the option of the Intel Extreme Graphics 2 and according to Intel Rise of Nations will work so I'm stoked. Can't wait for it to arrive. Memory is kind of expensive, $820 from Crucial.com. (2GB)

Just because a game will "run" with a certain type of graphics doesn't mean that it'll run fast!

However, RoN doesn't hit the graphics too hard so I think you'll be fine!

If my memory serves me right, the 700 only has 2 sodimm spots therefore meaning you have to put 2 1gig sticks in. That is really expensive, especially w/ sodimm

Rise of Nations plays well on my notebook with Intel Extreme graphics 2 and a Dothan Celeron M. And 512mbs of ram.
