Sorry, jfhz24, the OP skipped part of the description. It's actually easier to go check out the communication problem then to just take potshots with your math. Since this is a cooperative forum, I figure if I actually add something to the discussion (like clarification) rather then thread crapping, it helps the others.

I followed the instructions above, carefully checking the boxes suggested. My subtotal was $1015, checkout showed they were giving free shipping and gave an immediate 101.50 discount from the base system price, yielding $913.50. Then, add the coupon (see OP's sig for coupon website) to give you the total of $710.50. Hope that makes sense!

Nice price for a great laptop - i would advise on the upgrade to 1.6/533 though, instead of the 40GB hdd. Also getting the DVD/CDRW for another $29-30% and MS Works for the same may be good choices for a fully equipped system - still for under $800
