Inspiron 1501 LCD problem

I replaced the LCD Screen B154EW01 V.4 with a LCD Screen B154EW01 V.6 and the display works but is darker than it should be. How can I correct this? Used the Fn + screen brightness utility.
 
I gave my 1501 to my sister but when I see it I often think the screen is darker than it should be but I have never gotten to the bottom of it. I have no clue about the specific panel, my inverter has never died in the laptop so mine is still stock. I think the issue may be with how windows 7 also controls brightness?
