Raising min. wage will cut jobs, then why year after year do the number of workers go up?
Why do most jobs pay above min. wage? Because most employers realize to get workers they must pay more....that inflation has outpaced min. wage increases.
I could pay .10 more for a hamburger if they jacked up the min wage by a buck.
If most jobs pay above minimum wage then why do we need to raise it?
If you are so eager to pay more for a hamburger, then go ahead, I'm sure the high school kid taking your money will be grateful for the tip.
Because there are still companies that pay minimum, which is lagging behind inflation.
So you are just against HS workers getting a raise?
I worked at McDonalds for two years while I was in high school, and I got a raise above minimum wage after about a year, because I earned it. And minimum wage was more than enough for me, since it was all just spending money anyways. Funny thing is, when I decided that I wanted more money, I got a better job at a bagel bakery making bagels, which in turn paid more than flipping burgers. Are you just against HS workers learning how to advance in todays society?
