Ok, I've got an older dryer. It works, but it's nothing fancy. I need to get it out in the next two to three days.
I know it's a long shot, but I thought if I could help out a fellow AT'er then that'd be best.
I called Goodwill and asked if they picked up this sort of stuff. She said "Yeah, sure, let me get you that department."
The guy they transferred me to said "The problem with dryers is that it's not worth our time to come pick them up.". "Well sir...." I said. "It is a working dryer....".
"Yeah, but we won't make enough profit on it to warrant picking it up."
Me: ".........ummmm, I thought Goodwill was set up to help people in need. I have a free working dryer you can get to someone in need and you're telling me you won't get it because you won't make enough money on it?!".
and yes, I understand how a business works, but that seriously is kinda sad. I thought they were non profit anyway, no?
Oh well, FREE DRYER IN GREENVILLE SC AREA!!!!
