Inspired by the 5.11 tactical boots hot deal thread...

Considering getting some boots for work but I wanted to see what your opinions were since not too many people review boots online apparently.

I've narrowed it down to these 2:
5.11 ATAC 6"
Magnum Phantom V-Lite 6"

Anybody have experience with these particular boots?
And what's the side zipper for on the Magnums? Taking on and off quickly or for expansion similar to a suit case or something? I'm assuming on/off quickly.

No experience with those boots, but I've got a pair that I love. They are Redwings, not sure exactly which boot, but waterproof leather, I think 8" tall, steel toe, insulated. They ran 160, but not out of my pocket (shell gives boot stipends for refinery employees).

After the break-in period, they are very comfortable.

I have some of their long sleeve tactical shirts. Pretty nice stuff. But made in vietnam - no thanks.
