I've seen these at Fry's several times for only $30 more. I bought and installed 2 of them myself, and have been very happy with them.

How is the sound quality? How about at high volume?

Any good. Doesnt have to be Nakamichi levels after all its $69.99

Not a bad deal if you're low on cash and looking for something to play MP3's. The only drawback would be the pitifully low Signal to Noise (S/N) ratio which is rated at 55db. The average cd player in a head unit is rated for ~95db S/N.

55db? That has to be a misprint. That is super low, although that is around FM radio S/N and if you aren't an audiphile it should be ok. The price is nice.

There are alot of speed bumps and general cracks in the road where i live, Does this player have any skipping problems. i care more about that then sound quality since my speakers suck anyway

TIA

i went ahead and bought it today. just finished putting it in. seems good enough. i have factory speakers and basically I just wanted something to play mp3s and it seems to work fine. it has a button to go up directories which should be nice.

i don't care that much about sound quality and I really can't tell how good / bad it is. sorry

I haven't had mine skip on me once, but we don't have any road probs where I live. Sorry I couldn't tell you whether or not this would work for your situation... Worse case scenario, Fry's takes pretty much anything back in returns.😀

Insignia is BBY house brand. Its okay, but don't expect it to last for more than a year or two. You can get BBY's warranty on it for like $20, 4 years they cover anything but abuse. If it dies, they give you a brand new model of your choice (up to purchase price, then they pay the difference).

yeah these are crap, really. if you do buy it get the warranty i can almost guarantee it'll die in a year or less. i see these come back all the time. if you can avoid buying it do so, along with anything by dual or KLH.

Don't know about this brand but don't touch the jensen car audio either. I went through 3 in 1 1/2 yrs and the service guy let on I wasn't alone. Don't buy Jensen and if they pay you to take it make sure they include free install and removal when it fails.

Haha that sounds rather funny, I am not in disagreement with you either lest your countenance should fall :>. What I find so damn humorous is that at one time in the states Jensen was the pinnacle of the speaker trade for the everday user, this was a time before the nak's and b&o and macintosh as well as a whole slew of others rose to the top of the audio field. Kind of sad in a way, oh well sorry for rambling.

I bought this. it seems good so far except, when I turn off the car and then turn the car back on. it restarts the song.

maybe I didn't set something up right? it remembers the time of day. it remembers which song it was on. it just wont start in the middle of the song
