Inserting SD card freezes notebook...

G'day guys.

My M50 Toshiba Satellite notebook freezes every time I insert an SD card- I don't even have to log in- I could be sitting at the login screen, and insert it, and the moment it clicks in, XP has frozen. I have the Toshiba SD Driver installed. My only guess is this:

I installed XP Pro over the default Home edition that came with the notebook when I bought it a month ago. So I had to download all the drivers, since the cd is one of those useless 'image cds' basically with Home and Toshiba stuff embedded (i.e. I can't access those lovely drivers). So I got the drivers from the Toshiba site.

I'm stumped. Devicde manager reckons the SD Control driver is there (SDA Compliant Standard SD Control, or something like that). Anyway, any help in getting it working without crashing would be great- I hate having to use the usb wire to transfer my Ixus50 photos to my notebook- inserting the SD care would be so much quicker!

Thanks for any help! :)
