inserting a saved Diablo2 game into a new installation...

I recently reformatted and reinstalled everything on my C: drive. I keep my games on E: drive, so all the info is still there. What would be the best way to put my saved game back into action? If I install Diablo 2 into the same directory on my E: drive, will it keep the saved game info that was already there, or will it overwrite it? Could I just copy the save folder, install D2, then paste the save folder into the game? Any help would be appreciated, as I really don't want to lose all the time and effort I've already put into the game. Thanks.

Copy the save folder, install D2, then paste it back.

there are files from each save character you need to copy. My friends and I share our characters all the time.

one thing sucks is that the cinematics for the acts you finished with your saved char will not be available once you do a reinstall. the only way to fix that is too beat the act that your currently on.
