Insert text/credits into a home video file - AVI ONLY

Anyone know of a program that will allow me to do this?

I've tried windows movie maker, but I don't want to be forced to use .wmv files.

I want to keep the .AVI home video I made from my camcorder in the exact same format it is in already. But I just need to add some text to the video file.

you could always use WMM and than use a wma to .avi convertor.

would i lose a lot of quality that way? re-encoding twice?

You're right, since I need to add 2 lines of text to a 15 minute home video I should have no problem paying $420 for that software. :disgust:
