[Insert Interesting Title Here]... Just Need Advice.

I've been having problems with my current motherboard (ABIT KR7A-RAID), and now I'm looking to replace it. The problem is, I need to use all my old hardware. So I need to find a motherboard that supports:

Athlon XP 1700+
2x PC2100 [Crucial 256MB]
AGP 8x [ATI Radeon AiW 9700 Pro]
ATA/133 RAID [2x Maxtor 80GB]
Hercules Game Theater XP (Sound Card, if you didn't know)
And various other things (1 WD 40GB, DVD-rom, CD-RW, NIC's, etc.)

Right now I'm debating between the Gigabyte 7VAXP-A Ultra, Soyo KT400 DRAGON Ultra Platinum Edition, and the DFI LANPARTY KT400A. It seems that each of these boards support what I need, but I may have missed something. Any advice on which to get, or on another board out there I missed would be great.

I guess your problem is that the nForce2 mobos with RAID have SATA RAID and you will need adapters, sort of complicating things and jacking up the price.

There is not much point to going with a KT400 (or 400A yet), so looking at KT333 mobos may enlarge your choices.

Maybe if you start a topic like "Need parallel ATA RAID mobo" you'll get better responses.

What KF said. Some of the KT333 mobos would meet your needs better.

For an actual pick, I'd recommend:

MSI KT3 Ultra2-R (or BR)

I'm using two of these boards and I'm pretty happy with em. They'll support all the 333Mhz fsb athlons out right now. All your stuff should work well with this board and it leaves enough room to upgrade in the future. Not sure about tomorrow, but for today it will go up to an Athlon 3000 if you dropped some faster memory in.

There's quite a few similarities between your setup and mine if you want to check 'obsidian' in my sig.

edit: that board runs about 80-90 bucks I think.
