Maybe THAT title will work?

:p

Hey everyone... I put a new song up at my MP3.com site. It's actually kind of old. I wrote it about 5 or 6 years ago, and actually recorded it about a year ago. I recently rerecorded the vocals and put it up on my site. It's called "Steep," and if you wanna check it out, that'd be cool. :)

Also, I recently decided to donate half of my earnings from MP3.com to a charity. I decided on a small group called the "Men's Rape Prevention Project." (http://www.mrpp.org) They are an organization out of Washington, DC that helps teach men ways to "educate your male peers, friends and students to join women in preventing sexual violence." I have thought that it is sad that there are classes teaching little girls how to avoid being raped, but not to educate boys and men about ways they can help prevent it.

Anyway, if you want to hear the new song or just help out a charity, please check out my page at http://www.mp3.com/TheShadyNeighbor .

BTW, thanks to those that helped me out with my HTML question before.

THANKS!

Try this title:

Does a photo of you exist that you wish was never taken?

It worked for me ... I'm still trying to figure out what part of my story was thread locking material ...

<< teach men ways to "educate your male peers, friends and students to join women in preventing sexual violence >>

Teach them? Lock them up with Bruno and let them get bent over the sink a few times, and they'll learn.

lol Russ... Actually, they try to talk to men who haven't raped anybody yet. Preventative measures... lol

Then again, your method would probably "teach" them how wrong it is. ;)

HMM, interesting. How do they decide who needs talking to? It's not like the tendency to rape is common. I hope this isn't one of those radical feminist organizations that assumes all men are rapists at heart.

No Russ, they don't assert that all men are rapists. The group is actually run by men (who I understand can be "radical feminists" too). They have associations with numerous high schools and colleges in their area as well as some national affilitaions too. They talk to students and often leaders of groups about trying to make people aware of damaging attitudes about women and men. If you go to their site and read up on it, they explain it pretty clearly.

Unfortunately, and frighteningly, I have seen numerous studies where young people (some college age, some as young as elementary school) have very lax attitudes about rape. One said that 43% of "college-aged men" admitted to using coercive behavior to have sex, including physical aggression. It's estimated that 1 in 4 women aged 18-24 will be raped.

Unfortunately, it isn't as uncommon as one would think. :(

Does Steep use the same changes as "Broken Wings"? For some reason, I just heard that song while listening to yours. I know there aren't many changes but sometimes I hear these things. ;)

I don't know... Who does the song Broken Wings? lol

Steep is all of two chords. I am sure there are hundreds of songs that have the same change. (I - IV) lol

It's the first song I recorded on the computer with the program Acid. I figured a nice simple two chord song would be easy to do. It was pretty easy. :)

Yea, I realised how dumb that must have sounded with it being only 2 chords. Maybe it was the bass line. I have no clue who wrote Broken Wings. Was it Mr. Mister?
