Major Morons Unite! We have the good ol' Insanity Plea here in the US of A. You, too, can maim, kill and murder and even perform wanton acts of destruction without fear of reprisal. Are those kids bugging you endlessly? Drown 'em! That bully across the row bugging you non-stop? Take him out with a choice tool from your dad's gun cabinet. Yes, YOU, too, can feel free to act on your aggresions. Merely plead Insanity if anyone says that you shouldn't be doing what you're doing. You'll be off in no time! Guaranteed to work in most States! Juries fall for it everytime! Do it! Do it now! Plead insanity and you, too, can live a FREE life.

The Insanity Plea's the biggist crock o' crapola that I think I've ever heard of. Oh, I didn't mean to kill Mr. Johnson. I must've went out of my head for a little bit. OF COURSE YOU WERE INSANE!!!! NORMAL PEOPLE DON'T KILL OTHER PEOPLE!!!!! That's why I don't see how being insane can be a defense. It's a declaration that, Yes, I did it- just don't punish me.

I know that some of you softies are going to go for my jugular, but hey- that's fine. It's my opinion, not yours. As far as I'm concerned, while we're at it, we need to repeal the helmet law, seatbelt law and all them other silly restrictive laws. Can you say Natural Selection? If you choose to wear a helmet, fine. If you don't, then hey- if you crash, maybe you weren't meant to breed!!!! Whatta ya think o' that? Don't tell a kid not to touch the hot stove. Let him touch it and figure it out for himself. Any intelligent child's going to figure out that:
A) It's hot!
B) Not to do that again.
C) Possibly respect things that Adults do because hey- Mom never yells when she uses the stove.

We moddlycoddle idiots in society nowadays like they're precious. F$#%in' morons. And this wonderful justice system where the victim gets the blame. Yeeehaw. That's a wonderful new invention. If we could fix that part, I'd be for a little belt-tightening on the strength of our laws for dealing with offenders. We're too soft.
We just give out little hand-slaps to offenders. Bullcrap. Let them feel some justice China-style. Or Singapore-style. Whichhhh reminds me. Remember that American kid in Singapore that spray painted some cars? He was to be caned as punishment. The US Gov't (and a bunch of moronic hooligan citizens) tried to intervene on his behalf so he wouldn't get caned. I don't know that I've EVER been as ashamed to be an American as that time. He's guilty as sin. But we don't think he should get caned because he's special. He's an American. Well La-Di-friggin'-La. Only special he qualified for was Special Ed. How many morons does it take to figure out that you shouldn't spray paint cars? How many does it take to figure out that you shouldn't spray paint cars in Singapore? I bet that he NEVER spray paints another car in his life. At least not in Singapore. He's not dead. He's not maimed. He learnt a good lesson. Don't screw w/ the justice system in Singapore. Here in the States I'm sure he might've had to pay whatever it'd cost to repaint the cars, but that's it. Maybe a night in jail. Yeehaw. To think that we showed the world that we can't stand up for what we do wrong..... Utterly shameful. And here we try to be high and mighty and tell other countries what's wrong and what's right. Bullcrap. We have no authority when we can't even allow one of our citizens to undergo due punishment. *shaking head*

Stoopid hooman beans.

I think that defense only seems to work well for Presidential assassins, not that great for regular folk.

Actually was in a good mood when I got up yesterday. Just happened to read a blurb about the Yates gal in TX pleading Insanity. (Which, it's funny that our serial killer up here in Spokane is Robert Yates. Hmmm.) Anyway, the fact that her lawyer's pleading Insanity for her...... GGGRRRRRRRRRRRRRR. Messed up.

But then again, I was talking about this to a friend last night. He offered this view:
Perhaps the mother was doing society a favor by ridding it of unwanted behavioral problems in the offspring.

I hadn't thought of it that way. I have seen rats & mice eat their young for no apparent reason. I do believe I've heard of dogs & cats doing that, too. Makes me wonder if there's some sort of parallel in the animal kingdom that we can draw that might help explain why she did what she did.

I don't think you completely understand the plea of temporary insanity. You do have to have something to back it up, you can't just make that plea. As for the kid that got caned in Singapore. We didn't try to stop it because we didn't think he should be punished, we just didn't agree with their form of punishment. While I still think he should get wacked, I think that's more the reason we did it. As for your view on this country and humans, just leave the country and live by yourself. I always hate it when people who live in this country don't like us, our government or the people. If you don't like it. Leave. We could use the parking spaces.

I may be overgeneralizing on the insanity plea bit, but I do believe that it's overused and abused by guilty ppl and their lawyers. I'm not saying that every single instance of ppl pleading it are wrong. I'm sure there are cases where there's a legitimate cause to call upon it. I'm just tired of hearing ppl using it as a scapegoat and a cheap lawyer ploy to get out of paying the price of admission into Prison 101. Guess we just need to define the fine line of what's really 'insane' then. Because most ppl, in their right minds, wouldn't murder, etc. (ie- those things that get you put in the penitentiary.) Therefore, could it be said that most of the ppl in prison were under some sort of temporarily insane mood? or that they might still be insane? I'm not saying that's the case. But it's something to think about. I just don't think accepting the status quo on the deal is good enough. And where do we draw the line between a Mental Institution and Prison?

As for the American buffoon in Singapore, I'm glad he got caned. He was in a foreign country, expected to live under their terms. He broke their laws and therefore, was subject to their punishment. Yes, we can disagree all we want with how they mete out punishment upon individuals. However, we must also realize that he was an adult. He was well aware that Singapore has stiff penalities for breaking the law. Anyone whose body is in Singapore knows these things. I think the only way to go to Singapore and not be cognizant of such facts would be to be drugged and in a box during transit. In my mind, that allows him no leniency and definitely does not rate public furor and a Presidential intervention. We are so special that we don't have to abide by the laws of other countries? Yet foreigners coming to our country must live by ours? I don't think so. It works both ways. Smoking hash in a bar might be ok in Amsterdam. But don't try it here in the States. He knew that he was playing with fire. And he got burnt. I feel stoopid because we showed the world that we really do think that we don't have to play by anyone else's rules.

As for me not liking this country, the government or the people... I never said that I didn't like this country. I never said that I disliked the government. And I didn't say that I disliked the ppl in this country.

There are many things that I dislike about this country. However, I've travelled quite a bit and haven't found a better place to live. Absolutely not. We have a great place here. But it's not perfect. And I feel it's my duty to make it a better place. Regardless of what you think about me by listening to my rant, I'm not a evil person. I'm just fed up with certain attitudes and certain things in our society. And not all of it is from just the US. It's all ppl in general. But having travelled, I also see the other side. That we're not perfect and there are maybe a few things that we could borrow from other places to make life a little better. Change is good. If you want me out of the country, brother, you best be ready for a fight ;) I ain't goin' that easy. It's my country, too, and I feel that I have the right to vent about its shortcomings :)

The government. I can't say that I hate it. I hated Clinton's attempt to save poor car-painter's butt. I thought it was feeble. The gov't is just something that we have to live w/ because we made it. Something else that we have to change ourselves.

And Stoopid ppl. Good Gravy Train, Batman. Stoopid ppl are everywhere. Not just the US. But it wouldn't hurt to thin them out here. I stick by my suggestions on repealing some of the safety laws (not all- I think reinforced structures in automobiles is a good thing.) Natural Selection would do wonders, I think, if we let it.
