insanely stupid argument i had

So my friends have this insane paranoid roomate, and he thinks that the other 3 guys in the house are spying on his computer. Like physically watching live, whatever he does on his computer.

His reasoning (or lack there of) for this is because:
1. He heard people laugh when he typed mean stuff in MS Word.
2. He found Nvidia dual view on his computer. (yes, i explained its for dual monitors)
3. Its a local network, so he thinks they could view his computer live.

Not possible right? My friends did not (nor even know how to) do this. Anything else i can try to explain to this idiot?

There are plenty of things that could be running that would allow them to monitor him. VNC comes to mind.

They have VNC installed on some of the computers at my school. The icon displays nicely in the taskbar, and whenever I use one of those comps I right-click on the icon and select "Disconnect all clients", just in case. 😉

heh didnt think id get replys.......but anyways, i guess i didnt think there was actually software to do this (watch live).

-no the guy is not at all interesting, which is why we are trying to explain to him that no one cares what he his typing on his computer

That only applies if someone is smart enough to do that. 🙂

The techs at my school consist of a district guy who goes to six or so different campuses, and the campus tech who sits on his ass in the computer lab and watches videos all day long.

You can take the ethernet cord away. Or install peergaurdian 2 which blocks gov ip's and lie to him about blocking spying programs too.

well i said if he is that paranoid, to just wipe is computer and lock it when not in use. He agreed that will "stop the problem" but i am looking for a way to 100% prove to him that nobody every did 'spy' on him.
