Celeron 533A @ 920 MHz 1.9 V air cooling (Alpha). Survived overnight test of BurnP6, BurnBX, Unreal Tournament Flyby, all running simultaneously.

Higher speeds (ie. 960) run Windows, but are unstable:

Anyways, Sandra isn't the greatest benchmark, because as you can see, this "lowly" Celeron will equal or better a PIII in the CPU and Multimedia benchmarks, MHz for MHz. At 960, MMX integer is above 3000 it/s, and FP SSE is over 4000!

But alas, I don't consider myself a truly hardcore overclocker, and stick with speeds under 900 with this chip.

I'm not impressed really. To me it just shows the limits of the PIII Coppermine core. You will never see Intel have the ability to release a CPU with this core at anything greater than 1000Mhz. They have a hard enought time doing that.

Well... If you dont get horny watching a 800E running @ 1200Mhz you're in the wrong forum :)

Yeah, but... I have to agree with Yoshi.

The real projects I saw were a 550 at 850, and a 650 at 910.

The 1200 doesn't really count because you disabled the L2 cache for 800E chip. You have it at 1155, but don't list stability. You don't tell us how stable the 1007 number is for the 650E either.

Like I said, I can get benchmarks out of my 533A@960, which is an 80% overclock. But Yoshi's right, all we've done is shown the limits of the core, something many of the AnandTech'ers have done as well.

If we get to disable the L2, my 566 cel will run 1200 and above....Still is a lot of fun to see those numbers, I have to admit...

If you get horny doing anything with your computer, with the exception of surfing for porn, then you need to drink and get out more.
